Hey guys, my name is Nicole Yahaya Gaku, and I am currently on a 100-day journey to learning more about Data Science.

I came in contact with the term “Data Science and Machine Learning” when we had a course presentation on Online fraud in school. Seeing how times have changed and how data has provided lots of meaningful insights, especially in Businesses, today platforms like Facebook can help promote start-up businesses to particular people due to collections of data.

DAY 1:
On my “how to become a Data scientist Journey,” I hope you take this walk with me for those working towards the same plans. This article will be a series as I share what I discover could be helpful as we take on this ride to the LA LA LAND of Data science.

I came across an important article by Michael Galarnyk on “How to build a Data science Portfolio” I would advise you to check it out here. I understood that being a data scientist is more practical than theoretical, just like other science courses. Still, the beauty of Data science is working with interesting data, which is relatable, data that will provide meaningful insights.
The primary purpose of this Data science journey series is to calm down the steam and anxiety of people like myself who are new to this path and make them feel at ease that you can always start step by step and a day after another. As I am on this journey, anything I find helpful I will share with my fellow novice, and hopefully, this article will turn out to be like a Journal guide of life that a father writes to his son, if you know what I mean. In my next article, I will discuss data science domains, common terminologies, and the Common mix-up in job descriptions by designing an easy visual infographic. With all said, see you soon.
